"Great accommodations, great food, fantastic guides, super shuttle, INCREDIBLE rides. Sacred Rides was fantastic!" Steve Schaefer, CAN

Why do we require an application?

Our application process is in response to two of the most common questions our Riders have prior to booking a trip with us:

1) Am I skilled/fit enough to participate in this Ride?
2) Will the other people on my Ride be skilled/fit enough?

Ensuring that you - and the other Riders on your Ride - are a good fit for the Ride selected is of paramount importance to us. We want to help you pick the Ride that's perfect for you, and ensure that everyone booked on a Ride is on the right Ride for them. That's why we want to know a bit more about you - your mountain biking history, where you ride, how often, etc... - before we take your money.

We review every application and if, based on your responses, we think you're a good fit, we'll approve your application and you'll receive a link to place a deposit. If we think you might not be a good fit (either too skilled or not skilled enough for the Ride you chose), then we'll give you a call to discuss your preferences in greater detail.

Please note: our application process isn't about excluding anyone, or making anyone feel like they're not 'good enough' to participate in one of our Rides. It's about ensuring that you end up on the right Ride for you, with people of similar skill, fitness and riding preferences. In the end this ends up being a much better experience for everyone.

MOAB. JUST THE MENTION OF THE WORD IS LIABLE TO GET MOST MOUNTAIN BIKERS DROOLING. IT'S THE MECCA OF MOUNTAIN BIKING, THE MOST FAMOUS TWO-WHEEL DESTINATION ON THE PLANET. AND FOR GOOD REASON: SPECTACULAR, OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD SCENERY COMBINED WITH EPIC TRAILS.

On this trip, you'll experience the absolute best of the best, with as much incredible riding as you can pack into 6 days.

If you are a fit, expert level Rider, but want to ease into Utah riding, consider booking the Magnificent Mesas followed by our Ultimate Moab Experience, as we’ve scheduled them back to back for people like you!

This trip is for experienced and technically strong riders only!  Be sure to review our Skill and Fitness Rating System for a better understanding of what to expect.

IS THIS RIDE FOR YOU?

This Ride is for you if you are a technically strong, experienced mountain bike addict who loves nothing more than riding singletrack and rocky terrain for hours and hours. You love big open vistas, you’re okay with some exposure while riding and can appreciate spectacular scenery. You're happy to let us take care of all the details for you, so you can just show up and ride your brains out.

  • MTB SKILL RATING

    EXPERT 8/9

    SKILL LEVEL 8 - EXPERT

You are comfortable riding a variety of singletrack which may include tight trees, mud, loose rocks and sand and are comfortable doing so on aggressive terrain with little braking. You rarely, if ever, walk.

You often hop over obstacles such as roots and rocks that less advanced riders may wheel lift over.  Small drops are no issue for you and you are comfortable with having both wheels leave the ground. You are comfortable and confident with a front wheel lift and rear wheel lift to get up and over larger obstacles (up to 6 inches) such as roots and rocks that are not rollable.

If you have ridden a bike park, you are comfortable on all green, blue, black and double black trails.

Itinerary Disclaimer: While it is our intention to adhere to the itinerary described below, adventure travel can be unpredictable and may result in necessary or desirable alterations to the trails we ride, accommodation we stay in and destinations we visit.

DAY 1. WELCOME TO MOAB!

After settling into your condo, we encourage you to unpack and rest up for the adventure ahead.

At 7:00 p.m., the group will convene outside the condos for a group meet and greet.

We’ll review the incredible weeks itinerary, build our bikes, enjoy some local beverages and some pizza. We’ll provide bike stands, tools and helping hands for anyone needing assistance.

Note: Sacred Rides will be providing a shuttle service on Day.1 from St.George Utah at 9:00 a.m. sharp, leaving from The Hampton Inn (53 S River Rd, St. George, UT 84790).  Our shuttle will transport you and your bike from St.George to Moab at no extra fee.

DAY 2. LET THE MOAB RIDING BEGIN! NAVAJO ROCKS TRAIL AND MAG 7 TRAIL

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll build our own lunches from our lunch buffet and pack it go on our first day of shredding in Moab.

First stop, the Navajo Rocks Trail. The BLM has blessed us with this great new trail system. Our in-the-know team will have you starting this ride off with an 8 mile downhill, not typically included.

We’ll have a picnic lunch at Dead Horse Point overlooking the Colorado River.

We’ll wrap up the afternoon with riding Mag 7 Trail. The first part of Mag 7 has lots of fast-paced, holy-crap-that-was-fun sections. Then, we have two options, the Portal Trail, or Great Escape/Arth’s loop.

We’ll head back to our accommodation for some down time before heading out for a group dinner (for those who’d like to join).

DAY 3. SLICKROCK TRAIL AND PIPE DREAM

After a hearty breakfast, it's off to the most recognized trail in the world: Slickrock.

Riders mistakenly think Slickrock is easier than it really is. This is a rock trail marked by white dots to guide your way, although it's not a beginner or even lower intermediate trail - it's a technical romp through spectacular scenery, and a ride that will stay with you forever. The views across the slick rock, especially in the early morning or late afternoon will take your breath away.

We’ll head to town for a quick bite to eat at Peace Tree Cafe.

This afternoon, we’ll ride Pipe Dream. Thanks to our own private shuttle access, we’ll ride Pipe Dream as a one-way trail from South to North. It’s the perfect ride at the end of the day as the mesa to our west shades us from the afternoon sun.

We’ll head back to our accommodation for some down time before heading out for a group dinner (for those who’d like to join).

DAY 4. PORCUPINE RIM TRAIL AND HIKE AT ARCHES NATIONAL PARK

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll head off to Porcupine Rim Trail.

We’ll experience 14 miles of vastly diverse riding: from slow, steep and technical rocky singletrack to wide open high speed sections and everything in between. You're going to love this trail.

We’ll stop for a picnic lunch mid trail and finish up mid afternoon.

This afternoon, we’ll head over to Arches National Park for a pre-dinner hike.

Tonight we’ll head out for a group dinner (for those who’d like to join).

DAY 5. CAPTAIN AHAB TRAIL AND KLONDIKE BLUFFS TRAIL

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll head over to Captain Ahab to ride one of Moab’s newest trails.

Built by local riders to be unapologetically technical, Captain Ahab is the epitome of Moab’s version of “All Mountain” riding. With numerous mandatory drops and steep technical descents, often with little warning, this trail keeps you on your toes! In between the heart pounding thrills are some great flowy descents.

We’ll stop for a picnic lunch followed by our final ride at Klondike Bluffs.

Tonight, we’ll head out for our final group dinner (and we hope you all can join!).

DAY 6. EASY MORNING RIDE: PIPE DREAM AND GOODBYES!

Rise and shine for our last breakfast together in Moab.

Before hitting the trails, we’ll build our own lunches from our lunch buffet so it’s ready to devour upon returning back to our condo’s.

We’ll hit the incredible Pipe Dream trails early this morning and see how far we’ve come, cleaning sections we walked on Day 3.

The morning will be dedicated to enjoying every last pedal stroke in Moab.

We’ll head back to our condo to clean up, enjoy some lunch grub, pack up and check-out by 1:00 p.m.

High five your new riding pals and say your goodbyes until next time. Sob, weep, waaaaa!

Note: For Riders needing to get back to St. George, we will arrange for transportation from Moab leaving at 1:00 p.m. to The Hampton Inn in St. George Utah arriving between 7:00 p.m and 9:00 p.m.   For those requiring an additional hotel night in St. George, please book directly with The Hampton Inn using this link.
