MTB U Evening Skills Sessions in the Don Valley - Masters Level

Our MASTERS Level program is designed for intermediate mountain bikers with 1-3 years of mountain biking experience.

Courses take place on Wednesday nights on the Don Valley trails in Toronto, with 5-course series starting on May 30 and July 11.
After each session, we'll head to the café at Gears Bike Shop for snacks, a few drinks, and socializing with other Riders.

Sessions start at 6:15 pm at Gears Bike Shop in Leaside at 109 Vanderhoof Ave.

COURSES/MODULES

  1. You & Your Bike: review bike set-up, suspension set-up basics, tire pressure, slow speed skills, wheel lifts over obstacles
  2. Braking/Cornering: Using your brakes properly, how to enter and exit a corner properly, switchbacks, reading trail traction
  3. Climbing/Descending: proper body positioning for climbing and descending, gearing, weight transfer, shifting on a hill
  4. Trail Reading and Technical Riding: choosing lines, preparing for technical sections, riding technical sections and trails
  5. Stunt Riding and Small Jumps/Drops: How to ride basic 'North-Shore' style obstacles (bridges, skinnies, teeter-totters, etc...)
    and ride over jumps and drops.
