SACRED RIDES MARKETING AND MEDIA RELATIONS INTERNSHIP

We're looking to bring on 2 volunteer interns in early January for a 6-month part-time internship (10 hours/week). No, you won't be someone we just kick around and give lots of envelopes to lick. We're going to give you respect, a great experience with an amazing company, challenging and interesting projects, and some good cred for your resumé. And if you do a good job, we promise you'll be top of the list when we do our next round of hiring in 2010.

THE POSITION

You will be working on various projects in the following areas:

Customer outreach (planning and coordinating special events, such as mtn bike races, weekly rides, special guests, etc...)
Social media (creating and launching unique campaigns, communicating with customers and mountain bike community)
Publicity (developing relationships with media, inviting journalists on press trips, customizing and submitting press releases)
Segmentation (researching customer segments and determining best publications, websites, blogs to reach each segment)

What you need to bring with you

• Your creative thinking brain
• Knowledge of marketing/media relations and a commitment to grow your skills
• Dedication and a continued interest in Sacred Rides throughout the duration of your internship
• Readiness to pitch-in to help out with various "administrative tasks"
• Computer and online communications savvy
• Strong English speaking and writing skills
• A positive attitude

Extras (nice to have but not required):
• Experience working in marketing, media/public relations, advertising, sales, journalism
• Mountain biking, and travel experiences
• French speaking and writing skills

RENUMERATION AND PERKS

This is a 6-month volunteer position. If we like your work, there is a strong possibility this position will lead to paid employment.
